I may have to delete this, as tumblr doesn’t exactly have much of a “full blogging” community, which makes this a little more difficult.
Sorry about that.

Let’s go guerrilla artist for a minute.
Not necessarily for blogging, but if you feel like doing something fun…
This idea is inspired by Keri Smith .
Go somewhere. Anywhere. As long as you’re not inside of your home.
Take a shred of paper, a leaf, a paper bag, whatever is disposable and convenient, and write something. A message, a summary of your day, whatever you can think of, as long as it fits within 140 characters (spaces included).
Under that, you can choose to remain anonymous or write your name. Write the exact time and date, and leave it somewhere.
Open up a blank draft.
And type.
Type everything in your mind, doesn’t matter how it sounds, how coherent it is, if it pops up, type it. Don’t stop until you can’t think of anything else to say.
Don’t touch your backspace or delete key to edit yourself or
Ignore your grammar mistakes, run-on sentences, typos, and so on.
Just type. However you want.
It’s not required that you post this, but it’s an exercise regarding a form of writing called Stream of Consciousness (The lyricist and singer for the band Soul Coughing uses Stream of Consciousness to write his lyrics. It’s pretty interesting.) The exercise is supposed to show you how you write, how you think, without that special formatting or small desire to censor or edit what you say to please others. It’s also cathartic that way. Save it and put it somewhere safe.

do you base your friend groups or relationships off similar interests?
do you try to get your friends into the same things you like?
what are the results?
Personal Post time.
With the rising popularity of tattoos and piercings, some have opted to shun the idea of getting inked or pierced, while some have planned out their entire life of body modification.
So what about you?
Describe how you feel about body modifications and their current trendiness.
Do you want tattoos or piercings? Why or why not?
If yes,
What do you want, and where?
Will it represent something?
How do you think you’ll feel about it in twenty years?
Alternatively, let’s call this The “Wiki Walk” Post
1 - Find any article on Wikipedia, TV Tropes, or any encyclopediaesque website of the sort.
2 - Click the first link to another article that sounds interesting.
3 - Repeat four more times.
4 - Write a post about the article you land on.
If the article is too hard to write about, or is completely uninteresting to you, just replay until you find something you like!
Borrowing another idea, this time from an imageboard.
“There WILL BE a zombie apocalypse in 24 hours. You know it will happen.
You can’t go anywhere and stay there for protection. You must fight them off. You must gather supplies and weapons within this time along with a team if you wish.
What do you get?
Who do you get?
Where do you go for supplies?”
While this is an entirely hypothetical, fantasy scenario, try not to get too carried away in the fantasy aspect. Let’s assume that we can’t all have Mr. T and Morgan Freeman on our zombie-killing teams.
Imagine a scenario where you’re a little older, a little wiser, and suddenly you have a child.
What kind of parent would you be?
Where would your priorities lie as a mother or father?
What would be the ideals and beliefs you’d attempt to instill into your child?
Do you think, at this point in your life, that you would be fit to be a parent?
What do you think would make you fit to be a parent in the future?
And so on. Remember, this is just a scenario, so use your imagination and write whatever comes to mind regarding it!
Borrowing an idea from an old collaboration blog:
“What, if any, are your fetishes? (They don’t have to be limited to 2D)
What is it about that specific fetish that makes you weak at the knees? (oh, god that sounds creepy)
How do you think you developed this fetish?”
Something I’ve always wanted to/tried to do is highlight the most awesome moments from anime and manga and talk about what makes them so awesome. I actually did a number of these in early 2009 (1, 2, 3, 4) originally with the intent to do them on a weekly basis (but yeah right). People who blog episodically don’t often tend to get really in-depth on individual moments, and editorial bloggers rarely tackle something so specific unless they’re tying it to an outside idea. I want to just talk about why the moment kicks so much ass, and make it definitively ‘about’ that moment.
So I’ve had a few of these planned for a while, both from anime and manga, besides the ones I already did. The biggest one for me is To Aru Majutsu no Index episode 3, because the first ten minutes of the ep make up one of my alltime favorite anime scenes. I plan to do that one myself, though. This is one I always wanted to do, but just haven’t found the time/inspiration/gusto to do.
The moment is the end of Berserk vol. 10 when Gatts leaves the Band of the Hawks. It’s an awesome scene both in art and what happens for the story, because it is the definitive turning point that will come to define the two lead characters throughout the rest of the series.
In this scene, Gatts leaves the Hawks to go on a journey of self-discovery, which he was inspired to do because of Griffith. Ironically, however, Griffith desperately doesn’t want him to leave, considering Gatts to be the embodiment of his power, basically. Griffith challenges Gatts to a duel before he can leave, and Gatts wins. This is a powerful moment, because it symbolizes that Gatts has surpassed Griffith, but Griffith didn’t want that - his ambition is to be number one. Gatts was supposed to be helping him reach that status, not reaching it on his own.
What makes the scene particularly strong is that both men are blind to what it means for the other. Gatts views it as a very positive step forward with no harsh feelings. Griffith views it as a betrayal that tears his world apart. In the next volume, Griffith becomes desperate to regain his feeling of power, and ravishes the princess (who, for what it’s worth, was consenting), and this ends up being his downfall. After a year of losing everything, Griffith becomes so desperate to return to power that he sells the souls of his entire band in order to become the number one man again.
All of this is forseen by that one duel in the snow. The reader could never have imagined where it all would lead, but there it goes.
I dunno, maybe I basically just wrote the post, but I feel like this could be done much more deep and interestingly and that someone can get into it more than I can/care to.
